Effect of a Time Varying Electric Field on the Charge Transport Equation

چکیده

The charge transport equation is affected by thermal and concentration gradients as well as any applied electric field. In the charge transport equation the electrical conductivity, the electrical diffusivity and the electrical thermophoresis coefficient are all dependent on the electrical mobility which in turn is dependent on the collision time. When a time varying electric field is applied to a material it is known that the electrical mobility and the electrical conductivity become complex with a real and imaginary part. Does this mean the diffusion coefficient and the thermophoresis coefficient will also become complex? In this paper a time varying electric field is applied to a material (solid, liquid or gas), and the charge transport equation is developed using the contiguous collision averaging method. It is found that although the electrical mobility and the electrical conductivity do become complex the diffusion coefficient and the thermophoresis coefficient remain dependent on just the zero frequency mobility.

Field Dependent Charge Carrier Transport for Organic Semiconductors at the Time of Flight Configuration

In this paper, we used the time-of-flight (TOF) of a charge packet, that injected by a voltage pulse to calculate the drift velocity and mobility of holes in organic semiconducting polymers. The technique consists in applying a voltage to the anode and calculating the time delay in the appearance of the injected carriers at the other contact. The method is a simple way to determine the charge t...

چرخش لایه آزاد نانوسیال دی‌اکسید تیتانیوم در میدان الکتریکی خارجی

In this paper, the effect of titanium dioxide nanoparticles on the response of the freely suspended nano-fluid was investigated in an external electric field. Applying  the external electric field to liquid film carrying electric current caused the layer rotation. It was due to the surface charge response of the layer to the electric field. The effect of surface charge on titanium dioxide nano-...

Analytical Solutions for Spatially Variable Transport-Dispersion of Non-Conservative Pollutants

Analytical solutions have been obtained for both conservative and non-conservative forms of one-dimensional transport and transport-dispersion equations applicable for pollution as a result of a non-conservative pollutant-disposal in an open channel with linear spatially varying transport velocity and nonlinear spatially varying dispersion coefficient on account of a steady unpolluted lateral i...

Numerical Investigation of the Non-Uniformity of the Electric Field Distribution by Injection of Net Electron Charge in TE CO2 Laser

In this report, the distribution and deviation of electric field in the active medium of the TE CO2 laser has been investigated due to the injection of net electron charge beam as a plasma generator. Some parameters of system have been considered, such as density and mean-free-path of injected charge beam. The electric potential and electric field distribution have been simulated by solving the...

An Algorithm for Modeling and Interpretation of Seismoelectric Data

Generally speaking, seismoelectric modeling is a prospecting method based on seismic and electromagnetic waves, in which waves generated by a seismic source at the boundary of the two environments generate a relative fluid-solid motion formed as a result of antagonism between the elastic properties of the environment with the saturated fluid. This research has as its objective, a study of the e...
